Before the project

The book needed a home online that could do more than point people to a purchase link.

Beauty Berry Books had several stories to tell at once. Visitors needed to understand the book, meet the people behind it, explore the Florida wildlife connected to the story, find educational material, and know where to buy a copy. The challenge was giving each of those pieces enough room without making the website feel busy or turning it into an online store the project did not need.

What I changed

Give readers, parents, and educators a simple place to explore the whole project.

I organized the site so visitors can move naturally from the book itself into the people, artwork, wildlife, and resources connected to it. Purchase buttons lead to established sellers, while the website stays focused on helping people understand what makes the project special. The colors and typography bring in the feeling of Florida without making the site look childish, which helps it work for families, educators, libraries, and community partners as well as young readers.

What the finished site does

  • A dedicated place to introduce the book and its story
  • Creator pages that give readers more context about the people behind the project
  • A Wild Florida section that connects the book with its setting and educational value
  • Resource links for parents, educators, and community partners
  • Clear paths to purchase through Amazon and IngramSpark
  • A dedicated space for the illustrator and her artwork
  • A contact path for questions, events, and partnership opportunities
  • A responsive layout that is easy to explore on phones and larger screens

A closer look

Screens from the public site and the tools used behind it.

The public pages help visitors decide whether to inquire. The private screens help the business manage the work that follows.

The featured story section gives visitors a clearer sense of the book before they leave for a retailer, helping the website introduce the story instead of acting like a simple purchase link.

The artist section gives the illustrator her own place in the project and helps readers connect the visual style of the book with the person who created it.
Beauty Berry Books resources for families and classrooms section
The resources section makes the site useful beyond the initial purchase by giving families and educators a direct path to supporting material connected to the book.
Beauty Berry Books inquiry form for questions, events, and partnerships
The inquiry form gives readers, educators, libraries, and community partners a clear way to reach the project without relying on a generic email link.

The mobile book page gives readers room to learn about the story and move to a retailer when they are ready, without turning the website itself into an online store.

What improved

A website that gives the book room to become more than a product page.

Beauty Berry Books now has one place to send someone who wants to learn more. A parent can find the book, an educator can reach the resource material, and a community partner can quickly understand who is behind the project and how to get in touch. The site can also grow with new resources, events, wildlife content, and future book updates without changing its basic structure.
